Experience the countryside that inspired Cezanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Matisse. 

Visit Arles, Aix en Provence, St. Remi de Provence and the mesmerizing villages of Luberon and Mt. Ventoux regions, where serene harmony reigns between the powerful mountains, peaceful valleys and rolling hills.

During our 12-day tour to Provence we will be based in a charming hotel and take daily trips around Provence to introduce you to the breathtaking landscapes that have inspired many great works.

There will be discussions, critique sessions and demonstrations which will cover issues on drawing, space, linear and atmospheric perspective, light, temperature, color and design.

We welcome all levels from beginner to advanced and will work closely with you to develop skills, techniques and design concepts. Instruction will be in groups as well as one on one.

Pernes-les-Fontaines, our base, symbolises the essence of Provence and is listed among Les Plus Beaux Detours de France. It is a delightful town with preserved authenticity: a puzzle of picturesque narrow winding medieval alleys, shady squares, and colourful markets offering fresh local products. The lovely old town alleyways and vine-covered houses provide the perfect décor for the sounds of over forty splashing fountains. Hidden small cafes, restaurants, local shops, and amazing architectural details are a treat to discover during a stroll on the cobbled streets.
     
image 03   The surrounding countryside set with orchards and vines is blessed with the majestic view of Mount Ventoux as its backdrop.  The former capital of an area known as the Comtat Venaissin, Pernes is nestled behind the remains of protective ramparts.  Until 1274, when it became a Papal Territory it was owned by the Counts of Toulouse. Magnificent traces of this period can be seen in the historic center of the town where many of the sites have been classified as historic monuments.
     
  Pernes les Fontaines keeps alive the spirit of Provence in its appearance, interesting legacy, and location that we invite you to discover.  Ideally placed in the heart of a very culturally rich area, the town allows the exploration, in a very short range, of breathtaking places as Isle sur la Sorgue, Fountain de Voucluse, Venasque, Saint Didier, Avignon.
 

 
  With the timeless charm of century old "maison bourgeoise" you will enjoy your stay in an exquisite quietness. This 19th century mansion,  now a pleasant hotel, is located in a 2 hectare park. During your stay, you will enjoy the enchanting foliage surrounding. The whole of Provence is awaiting you in this place of leisure and relaxation.

Tour Price:
$4377 CDN plus airport taxes, which are determined by the airline at the time of ticketing.

Tour Includes:
Round trip Air Fare Toronto - Marseille, ground transportation, accommodation with
beatuful and spacious park, all breakfasts, painting classes, critique sessions, excursions to picturesque Provencial towns and guided tours of Arles, Aix-en-Provence and Avignon.  The price is based on double occupancy studio-apartment.  Single accommodation is possible as well, based on availability at the price of $500 more. 

Limited to 12 participants.  Space is guaranteed at time of deposit. Deposit is $600 CDN.
